| Notes: |
There are approximately 70,000 tiny (< 1mm indentations on the hail pad. These are real indentations, concave downward,
not a "print through" of the texture of the Styrofoam backing of the hail pad. Some of the smallest indentations
may be caused by very hard hailstones breaking up before impact, but I cannot conceive of any mechanism for such a
phenomenon. This report was delayed 11 days because I am still recovering from a hard drive failure that appears to have
happened because of a thunderstorm coincident with the hail on 9/12/09. |
