Light rain started at 5:30pm with distant thunder in the south. Light rain continued to 7pm, then rain was heavier with nearby thunder and lightening all around. Hail started at 7:15pm with most hail at 1/4". At 7:19pm hail was smaller, mostly rice size and less. Suddenly at 7:20pm hail was falling, 1/2" to rice size. Some larger stones were white in the middle and clear around the outside. Most small stones were white, few were clear. By 7:22pm most hail was 1/4". By 7:23pm there was no more hail. During the heavy rain and hail time visibility dropped to less than 1/2 mile. At 7:26pm rain gauge was at 0.25". |
