					| Notes: | Longest hail episode I've witnessed since moving here in 1987. Hail was "soft", full size range of stones was compressable between fingers. No hail pad out. Larger stones (3/8") came down for the first 16 minutes of the total episode; rice size stones for the remainder (26 min). Considerable lightening (8 to 10 strikes per minute)looking south from our location. Power out for about 2 minutes early in the episode. Hailstones melted quickly as temp was 42deg F. and stones were soft -- not much accumulation on the ground. | |
