Largest hailstones (1/2 to 3/4 inch) were NOT spherical, but were flattened "floral" appearance - 1/4 to 3/8 inch thick, clear ice center (about 1/4 inch) surrounded by 1/2 to 3/4 inch diameter white ice "petals" with radial striations or grooves. (I have photos).
