a trivial event, I can't imagine anything being damaged by this hail, but it seemed interesting given how warm and moist the atmosphere is. great storm! i don't have an official rainfall measurement yet (still raining, still some lightning) but it's over an inch. some strong gusts (all branches of a large mature red oak surrounded by smaller trees were in vigorous motion, if that's informative). the first 15 minutes or so of the storm featured frequent CG lightning (every 5-10 seconds). |
