| Notes: |
~ 1.5 SSW of site. Hail began ~ 1 min after rain, could see a ~ wall cloud approaching from ~ SW. Fast-rise gust to at least 30 mph. Fortunately, storm was fairly short-duration. PDT radar showed storm stretched quite a ways NW, but highest intensity only went W about as far as John Day River. Later reports from others of golf-ball hail 1-2 mi E. Hail damage over much of the county, clear up to the Columbia River, incl still being determined crop. Interestingly, the hail-producing cells were clearly visible in PDT radar, but not clearly vislble in animation at SkyWarn.org . |
