Measured hail in rain gauge at 2:42 PM---0.9
Hailstones appeared to by lying in clusters of 20-30 stones, separated by an inch or more of irregularly shaped area that was nearly devoid of stones. Measurements of 100 pairs of stones along a straight line transect yielded a mean separation of 0.48".
Rain stopped. We are on our way to see the Disney movie BEARS -- these are the same bears whose behavior my husband Steve has been studying for decades. |
