| Notes: |
There was not a large quantity of hail with this storm. The largest piece I saw was about nickel-sized at its largest diameter. It was shaped like a flattened sphere, being perhaps a quarter to a third of an inch thick in the center. Admittedly I saw very few hailstones as the lightning was very close and very intense...too dangerous to venture out onto the porch for more than a very brief time. But from a distance, and judging both by sight and sound, it seems that the majority of the hailstones were smaller than the nickel-sized specimen I found. |
