| Notes: |
A hail pad was set out prior to the storm's passage, and five indents occurred. I originally questioned if I had damaged the pad prior to deployment, but five indents plus the slightly lowered CC in radar (seen from KGWX at 2:26 p.m. CST, centered on Haleyville, AL) seem to indicate the possibility that graupel or hail occurred. The indents were between rice and pea size, with two penetrating the foil and three not penetrating. I cut around the indents to check if they were circular, and they were. The two puncture marks in the middle of the pad are not hail and are from a stake used to hold the pad down so it doesn't blow away. |
