A light fall of "Rice" hail began about 1:32 PM, lasted about 5 min., and then stopped. A second much heavier hailfall began at 1:48 PM, peaked 3 to 5 min later, and then tapered off to end about 2:03 PM. All hailstones were white with a max size of 3/8 in. Accumulation on ground was 1/4 to 1/2 inch. (Wood deck was solidly covered) Precip was 0.52 plus a significant amount of hail which is still melting. Heavier precip amounts likely several miles to the NE of station. |
