Notes
Precipitation began at 12:52pm as a sprinkle then transitioned to light rain at around 1:00pm. Light rain with occasional moderate rates ended around 2:15. Sunshine after 2:30pm. Checked gauge catch at 3:00pm indicating 0.09". Between 5:30pm and 6:00pm, Doppler radar was painting light rain for our area. However, checking outside did not observe any precipitation. Light rain began around 6:00pm. Checked gauge catch at 7:47pm indicating 0.15" with no precipitation at that time. Precipitation continued into the evening. Checked outside at 10:35pm and precipitation was rain/snow mix. Checked gauge catch at 11:00pm indicating 0.33". 7:00am observation this morning, light snow was precipitating during observation. Observed accumulating snow on elevated surfaces including grass. Bare soil does not have snow accumulation. Snowboard accumulation measured 0.7" with a SWE of 0.12". Gauge catch had 0.43" of liquid precipitation. Gauge catch funnel was heavily coated with snow on the inside surface but not overflowing. Melted down funnel accumulation to 0.20". This was added to the liquid precipitation with a gauge catch total of 0.63". There was no old snowpack. I did not hear thunder yesterday or overnight.
