 Precipitation began at 6:15pm as a sprinkle from an approaching thunderstorm which ended after a few minutes. Sprinkle restarted at 6:52 with frequent cloud to cloud and cloud to ground lightning and thunder. Thunder had a muffled sound to it. Sprinkle transitioned to light rain at 6:54. Very close cloud to ground lightning between 6:57 and 7:06. Visually observed heavier rain moving north and south of our area. Complete wetting of surfaces began at 7:13pm as light rain slightly increased in intensity. Steady light rain settled in during the 7:00pm hour and continued most of the evening. Did not observe hail or heavy rain from the thunderstorms. Low stratus this morning with limited visibility. Our automated weather station recorded a total of 0.17" of precipitation.
