 Winter Storm Warning for periodic episodes of LES from yesterday thru 1 am Friday (long duration 4-day event) for Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Wyoming and S. Erie counties. Low pressure moving just north of us into Quebec and arctic front brought very strong winds (79 mph at NWS in BUF yesterday). Very heavy snow accompanied cold front for 30-60 minutes. W-NW winds now bringing light-moderate snow to the area. NWS office State College, PA issued a Lake Snow Warning for Erie, Warren and McKean counties through today. Wondering why NWS in Buffalo issued WSW vs. LSW. Maybe because of the long duration of the event.
