Notes
First precipitation event occurred as an isolated rain shower at 2:40pm. Nothing more than light rain with no thunder. Gauge catch checked at 5:43pm and it was dry. Second event occurred starting as a sprinkle at 7:03pm with cloud-to-cloud lightning. Intensity increased to light rain at 7:04 with close cloud to ground lightning at 7:09pm. Surface wetting at 7:10 and another close lightning strike. Precipitation increased further at 7:12 as border line moderate rain. Another close lightning strike to our south at 7:15. Rain decreased to light rain at 7:18, then, back to rain at 7:21 and cloud to cloud lightning with deep thunder. Rain intensity decreased back to light rain at 7:23pm then to a sprinkle at 7:26. Cloud to cloud lightning and thunder above at 7:31. Precipitation ended at exactly 7:34pm. No hail was observed. Gauge catch checked at 7:37pm indicating 0.06". Times above are very accurate. Another thunderstorm approaching from the west with frequent lightning during the 9:00pm hour didn't quite make it completely to our area with only light rain noted. Grass this morning is damp.
