 We were running a bit late, so my dogs came back in about 4:55 am. I handed them a treat and heard a noise. I turned on the light and saw it was raining. It stopped by the time I put on my coat and we went out to read the rain gauge by 5am. There were a few lightning flashes in the east. We expect a winter storm with high winds and blizzard conditions this afternoon to tomorrow morning. The rain this early was a surprise to me. Perhaps the 1pm beginning of the warnings will be moved. Whenever I say "rain gauge" my dogs get excited and we all go out to change it. The terriers stop part way and watch, but my greyhound runs big circles around me while I change the gauge. Then we all head for the house.
