 The first inch or so (recorded as 1.02", but possibly more because it spilled a bit when prouring it out of the inner cylinder) came after noon, nice and gentle. The last 3/4 inch came substantially later and harder, though I don't know not much. This was much much needed! And the slight rain Friday night and the gentle rain Saturday afternoon hopefully softened up the hard soil so that the water could soak in rather than run off. Hopefully! The soil is extraordinarily dry, and many of the plants have died, making for patches of uncovered soil.
