Notes
Blizzard warning has been ongoing overnight and through today. it’s very difficult to measure snow fall due to very high winds overnight and brisker ones this morning. Yesterday was mostly rain and sleet. I pulled the gauge at 9 pm last night to capture just rain and ice totals which equaled 1.1” of liquid. The snow captured this morning produced .53” of water. The estimate on the cylinder said this totaled about 5”-5.5” os snow. the snow board captured 4.1” of snow and I am awaiting the melt to report SWE. However, a table near the same location as the board measured closer to 8” while my asphalt drive that is more in the open captured an average of 6” of snow. So I’m reporting the snowboard amount officially. Also of note is that the snowboard has approx 1/8”-1/4” of ice underneath the snow so it was difficult to capture all the precipitation in my snow core. I will update core melt shortly. Update: snowfall core melted down to .37” SWE
