 Violent afternoon storm with hail and heavy rains. Rainfall came in two periods. Period 1 lasted from 1:18 pm to 1:50 pm. Hail started at 1:29 pm and went to 1:44 pm. Hail diameter up to 0.50 inches. Hail fell downward in multiple directions. At times parts of yard and deck were covered in hail. Total rainfall was 0.46 inches at 2 pm. Period 2 was overnight with remaining 0.02 inches. Ground is supersaturated. Sprinkler system automatically turned off. Despite heavy winds and hail in afternoon, garden survived and no visible house damage. There are leaves and small branches scattered everywhere. Some mulch landscaping is disturbed. Temperature at time of reading is 51 degrees F. No wind. Low cloud deck.
