Notes
|
Partly sunny skies, T 64F, wind SE 7 mph, gusts 13 mph, DP 61F, RH 88%. Two rounds of thunderstorms impacted my location yesterday. We were placed in a Severe Thunderstorm Watch at 12:30 PM. At 3:25 PM a Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for my location followed by a Tornado Warning at 3:30 PM for the SW parts of the city; approximately 3.3 miles to my south. Some gusty winds and at times heavy rain were observed. Pea-sized hail was observed at 4:12 PM.
At 2:10 AM, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for my location. Additional Severe Thunderstorm Warnings were issued at 2:52 AM, 3:25 AM, 4:00 AM, 4:33 AM, and 5:12 AM. A Flash Flood Warning was issued at 4:29 AM.
The Severe Thunderstorm Warnings overnight produced very heavy rainfall, gusty winds, frequent lightning. At 4:05 AM, I observed small, pea-sized hail. At 5:05 AM, I filed a hail report with CoCoRaHS for pea-sized hail mixed with 3/8" hail.
I did not venture out to recover hail or check the rain gauge between the 1st and 2nd round of thunderstorms.
