Notes
July 28 was a hot, humid day with a high of 90°F. Thunder began to rumble before 6 pm and the first drops of rain appeared around 6:30. Shortly before 7 pm, there was intermittent hail for about 5 minutes. Most stones were around 1/4 inch, but a few 1/2 inch stones could be heard pounding the windows and vinyl siding. The hail followed the highest winds, estimated near 50 mph, by a few minutes. A second round of storms, after 8 pm, was weaker. Skies cleared overnight, with patchy fog formation and a low in the upper 60s.
