Notes
Evening thunderstorms brought heavy wind and rain. Around 7:30 it had picked up enough that a few families were out on their porches to watch. Driving rain, winds at about 25-30 mph. Looked like a tropical storm. We were getting a little wet huddled in the furthest corner of the porch. Not a ton of visible lightning, or lightning that close, but the thunder had a real crackling energy to it. The low-lying parts of the back yard pretty quickly got ankle deep (gone this morning). A neighbor’s young maple split in half at a weak branch union.
