wind!, numbers are a mess, snow in my yard near 24" in spots but 4" in spots, some sheltered spruce trees in the windbreak have branches heavy laden with snow, where ever the wind can get all branches are moving, gusts may sway trees, I believe the strong gusts made trees sway through the night, windows rattled at times, drifts with ripples between drifts, in the open field I think the top of the drifts is easily over 24", I think the low spots are near 24", I would need to get out the hip waders to check-in the light, I can't tell if new snow is falling or the snow is blowing in the wind, yesterday snow moved in quickly, by 6:30am I could not see much at 1/2 mile-snowplow flashing lights-no buildings or tree shadows, snow heavy and off and on-at times through the day, visibility less the 1/8 mile was mostly in the morning, afternoon wind move evergreen branches then decreased to moving few branches, evening wind moved some branches, strongest wind started before 2:30am, overcast through the day, light snow during the afternoon-at times few stray flakes with good visibility, some snow clouds across the open fields made by the wind, light snow after dark |
