Notes
Light rain shower began at 7:47am transitioning to a sprinkle at 7:57am and ending at 8:02am. This was a wetting precipitation event. Checked gauge catch at 8:09am and it showed a trace with the bottom partially covered. These are exact times. Next event I was not available to observe. Doppler radar indicated showers and thunderstorms came through our area beginning around 3:45pm and ending around 4:30pm. Checked gauge catch at 4:40 showing a trace of precipitation with bottom completely covered. The last event I watched unfold outside as I was watering trees during the evening hours. Intense thunderstorm was observed on the west side of Limon, CO during the 7:00pm hour. As this storm moved SSE, it spawned a thunderstorm towards the west from its outflow boundary. The next storm observed was spawned south of Parker, CO moving SSE but missing us to the east by several miles. The last storm came from our NW heading in our direction during the 9:00pm hour. However, as this storm approached our area, it weakened significantly as the sun had already set. First raindrops from this storm began as a sprinkle at 9:27pm transitioning to a light rain shower at 9:32pm then back to a sprinkle at 9:35 ending by 9:40pm. Checked gauge catch at 9:50pm indicating 0.01". Lightning from this storm was also reduced as it approached. No hail was observed during any of the above events. Mostly clear this morning and a mild 67F.
