Notes
Efficient snowpack melting yesterday. Snowpack coverage was reduced to about 40%. Light to moderate snow showers began yesterday around 2:03pm driven by gusty NW wind. Temperature dropped from 49F to 35F. Snow intensity decreased around 2:30 and ended around 2:40pm. Light snow showers returned at around 2:55 but did not last long. At 4:13pm checked snowboard and found a trace of small ice droplets scattered on the surface. Checked gauge catch and observed a trace of tiny water droplets clinging to the bottom edge. During the peak of the precipitation event, the bare ground became moist, and snowflakes only stuck to remaining snow cover. This morning, it is 25F and the ground and snowpack are frozen.
