Notes
Rainfall occurred mainly between 9-11 AM. About 1.75” fell between 9:15-10:15 AM. Peak instantaneous rate was 6.55” per hour. Gusty winds accompanied the heaviest downpours. Event total 4.10”, making it by far the wettest rainfall event since August 18th of last year (rainfall actually occurred on August 17). I was at home and didn’t leave during the entire heavy rainfall event, so I did not observe any flooding, but there was excessive runoff occurring in my lawn and along the street. By evening, the ground was still a little soggy, but lingering runoff has ceased completely. It’s obvious we needed a good drenching. FROPA within the 4 PM hour as skies cleared and sun came out. Mid 70s dewpoints fell to the mid 60s by late evening. Afternoon high ended up being 89°.
