 Observed precipitation beginning as a sprinkle at 12:03pm then increasing to a light rain shower at 12:05. First weak rumble of thunder from cloud to cloud lightning at 12:12, 12:15 and 12:21. Light rain ended around 12:24pm. Another light rain shower began around 12:50pm with unknown duration. Checked gauge catch at 2:15 indicating 0.01". Above times are exact. Thunderstorm developed just to our SE nearly on top of us during the 3:00pm hour. Observed scattered large raindrops but no hail. Rain was brief with no complete wetting of surfaces. Checked gauge catch at 3:19pm indicating 0.02". Wetting rain was during the 4:00 and 5:00pm hours with weak thunder ending around 5:30pm. Checked gauge catch at 5:51 indicating 0.07". Sky was very dark to the east most of the afternoon. Fog bank this morning on NW through SE horizon with remainder of sky clear. Surfaces are soaking wet including grass.
