Description:
June rainfall comes in at 5.18 inches versus the 14-year June mean of 4.23 at this station. The last 10-days however have been fairly dry, with only 0.49 inches and late June sun dries things out rapidly. Longer term indices remain very wet. The benchmark water supply gage on the New River at Radford,  is running at 7000 cfs for the last 7-day period, at the 94th percentile and 234 percent of median flow for that period. For the six-month period ending June 30, precipitation is 33.13 inches. Station mean for that period is 23.53 inches, so just under a 10-inch surplus. We could be Moderately Wet except for the very short-term dryness.
