Though 0.65” of rain fell June 7-8, 2019 this is the only precipitation to have fallen since May 27, 2019, a period of 19 days. Skies have been mostly clear during this mainly dry period, along with 2 days of record high temperatures and low relative humidity, allowing for greater evapotranspiration. Grasses are beginning to brown where not watered regularly. Though we’re moving into our dry season, we did experience an unusual 2-week dry period beginning in late April which stressed new leaf growth on more-recently established trees and plants.
