Frequent light rain has greened the grasses and the trees are slowly leafing out.  Cold has slowed the process down and by appearance it looks like the start of May.  Sheet ice damage is becoming apparent in blueberry bushes that lack buds.  Peas and greens have been planted but most of the garden awaits warmer soil.  Alwives are yet to run as the water is too cold.
