Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: SC-AN-21
Station Name: Anderson 10.5 SE
Report Date: 8/20/2017
Submitted: 8/20/2017 7:19 AM
Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
I would say that we're near normal for the week considering the time of year. With half an inch of rain in the early part of the week, vegetation continues to be pretty green--more so than in a lot of Augusts in years past. Animals have enough to eat and crops on surrounding farms seem to be faring well. On the other hand, while digging post holes this week, my brother-in-law noted that the soil was bone dry 3-4 feet below the surface. I guess that means that although we've had good precipitation this summer, we haven't yet made up for the deficit last year. Maybe that's why Lake Hartwell is still 7+ feet below full pool?
