We haven't received any rain all week long, so I am running the sprinkler for some grass seed I am trying to start. Every day this week has been sunny and dry. I am so tired of the sun! It wasn't until yesterday evening when I actually saw a few cirrus - I was shocked. The temperatures were nice early in the week and I was able to have the windows open, but around mid-week I had to turn the air conditioner back on. Highs in the mid-80's is too much for October! Mosquitoes have been vicious and super thick this week. New England and heath aster are both at peak bloom now and showy goldenrod is blooming now. Bees and wasps are really loving them. Trees are not starting to turn colors yet, but trees and shrubs that have lost leaves have only done so because of heat and drought stress from last month. I haven't seen hummingbirds in a few days, but the feeders are still full and waiting for any stragglers headed north.
