The year-to-date precipitation is quite close to normal, but the South Fork of the Crow River (where it crosses County Rd 2 between Glencoe and Silver Lake) continues to seem below normal, with some silt and "sandbars" showing.
Fieldwork is continuing, with many farmers starting to combine their soybeans this weekend. Chopping of field corn for sileage might be almost finished, but harvesting of corn for grain hasn't started yet.
In the garden, only pumpkins and winter squash are still out.
