Despite 0.41 inches of rain a few days ago, conditions have not changed. Grass in most places is browned and crunchy; dust rises readily from just walking through dirt. The vegetation will support combustion and can easily be lit with just a plastic bottle placed just right. Most of the Corn Crops have been harvested; all but the last planted Bean Crops have been harvested. The Lakes and Ponds are still 18 to 24 inches below normal levels. You can cross the creeks and streams without getting too wet, and the Bogs on US40 and US 50 are both dry. The Hackberry Trees have lost so many dry leaves that the grass surrounding them is totally hidden from view.
