Description:
Another dry week, with 0.25" evapotranspiration, average high 70.5f, low 50.7f.  Ruth Lake Reservoir on 10/2 at 75%.  No change in Drought Map. Local rivers holding steady but warming some with heat wave inland.  With the possibility of heavy rains this fall and winter due to the predicted El NiƱo, the Humboldt County Office of Emergency Services is planning a series of public meetings about the impacts it could have.  Special areas of concern involve the low-lying areas that are affected by the regular king tides.  The county Public Works department is also working on road issues that could come from river flooding as well as the tides.
