Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
A system moving in from the west and tropical moisture moving north, along with monsoon moisture already in place, produced a very wet week with 2.75 inches falling to end the monsoon season. The monsoon season (6/15-9/30) had at least a little above normal rainfall every month but June with September being the wettest at 4.75 inches. The monsoon ended with a total of 12.08 inches which is 4.47 inches above normal. With this wet weather, I decided to move the Condition Scale Bar to "Near Normal". High temperatures started in the mid 70's but dropped in the 60's and then 50's with the wet weather. Highs then returned to the 70's. The high of the week was 77° on Saturday. Lows were in the 40's and 50's but cooled more after the rain and a low of 39° on Saturday. The first 30 degree temperature since May 31st. It was breezy in the afternoons to end the week. A lot of wildflowers are blooming in the open areas and grasses are starting to brown. Looking more like Fall with leaves continuing to change colors. Saw Scrub Jays and a skunk but no other wildlife seen.
