Last week was a very wet week across this area. With the remnants of Hurricane Polo moving through, lots of heavy rain fell on already saturated soil, leaving flooded fields and creeks. Roadside ditches still remain filled with standing water. What little harvest that had started has completely stopped as farmers wait for the saturated ground to dry out. The Green and Rock Rivers remain very high with a slight rise of the Mississippi. This station received 2.71" of rain during the 44-hour period the rain moved through. Some nearby areas received much more. Things should dry out this week as the forecast is for sunny conditions with highs in the low to mid 70's with no rain. Hummingbirds have migrated as I have seen no action at the feeders for a week.
