Congratulations CoCoRaHS for breaking the reporting record on 10/1 with over 18,500 submittals in a single day!!! Rainfalls: This week 0.40”, last week 0.90”. With only 0.40” of rain this week, the ground conditions here have remained mildly wet. Kneeling on the lawn yields soaking wet knees. The trails in the woods are still muddy but there isn't any standing water to be seen. The creek level is slightly above normal and flowing. The couple of Maple trees, which are the first to show bright colors, are turning bright red. Low nightly temperatures have dipped into the upper 40s and are leaving quite a bit of dew on the ground which takes until early afternoon to dry out (if there's no rain). The lawn needs to be mowed at least weekly. There's no browning of the lawn yet this season. The vegetable garden is finished producing with all but the potatoes left to harvest. It was a good producing garden this season needing only a minimal amount of supplemental watering.
