Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: TN-MC-16
Station Name: Lafayette 4.5 SE
Report Date: 10/4/2026
Submitted: 10/04/2026 5:57 AM
Scale Bar: Moderately Dry
Description:
We received .55 inches of rain this week. The streams, spring fed ponds, and creeks are normal. Cooler weather for the last five days has slowed the loss of soil moisture. Little to no grass growth again this week but it is that time of the year now. Most of the field crops are in and the garden is only producing a few tomatoes, peppers, okra, and plenty of turnip and mustard greens. Livestock looking good, plenty of deer, turkey, squirrel, and other wildlife. They have plenty of water and due to our dry spring and normal summer rainfall they have plenty to eat. Hummingbird numbers are thinning but still have several stopping by on their way south. Seeing more color on the timber now but it's a dull color due to our dry conditions since the middle of August. We are still having limbs, tops, and occasionally a tree come down due to stress and internal damage to the timber through our area caused by last Januarys ice storm. We are blessed.
