Description:
Week of (9/27/26-10/3/26) observed more precipitation compared to last week. The precipitation observed during this week was 0.45 inches of precipitation. The amount of precipitation measured was more than the last update of a trace of precipitation for the previous week of (9/20/26-9/26/26). There was 3.35 inches of precipitation that had been recorded at station NY-MR-89 for the month of September compared to the normal climatology precipitation at KROC airport for the month is 3.18 inches of precipitation. There was 0.42 inches of precipitation so far that was recorded at station NY-MR-89 for the month of October compared to the normal climatology precipitation at KROC airport for the month is 0.29 inches of precipitation. Conditions have gotten wetter since the last update from last week with the area seeing more measurable precipitation in the form of liquid over this past week and the area is still remaining drought free. The area is currently considered near normal and conditions had gotten wetter since the last update and the ground has remained dried up with no standing water since the last update due to the area receiving more precipitation in the form of rain since there has been a lot of measurable rainfall last month in September and prior months and this had caused the area to receive an abundance of moisture the area had received in the past, but the grass is still green and vibrant in the back yard and in the front yard. The sump pump hasn’t been pumping at all during the entire week with the ground being dry despite all the precipitation the area had received over this past week. Outdoor activities have been OK this week with majority of the days this week had wet weather and measurable precipitation despite one day with no precipitation falling, but one dry day was good to walk on local canal path and along with above average temperatures (Sunday-Friday)and below average temperatures(Saturday)and streams water levels are still holding at low levels currently. The air conditioner has been off with no needed use for cooling the house down for the entire week due to seasonably warmer than normal temperatures during the entire week and cooling the house some nights and with the windows closed on the other nights the entire week to trap heat inside the house before temperatures begin to cool off (as much as 13 degrees Fahrenheit above average for high and low temperatures during the week and as much as 5 degrees Fahrenheit below average for high and low temperatures during the week). The furnace wasn’t turned on this week and so far for this season due to day time temperatures being mild enough to keep the house warm on chilly nights this week. The ground had remained dry this week and the drainage area in the backyard has no standing water. The grass is still green and vibrant with all the moisture that had fallen over this past week along with full foliage on the trees. The front and backyards needed to be hand mowed twice this week along with vegetation such as Dogwoods and trees in the backyard are doing good and no manual watering was needed for a potted plant and Boxwoods for this week and the grass is still growing very fast due to abundance of moisture the area received from the past. There some signs of fall foliage with the area to be considered just changing that was observed this week compared to no change since last update last week and same as the previous week. So far, the total precipitation at this station for the month of October is currently above average.
