Report Date: 10/3/2026

Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
It was a wet September here with 4.55 inches of rain which was 373% of the NOAA normal value of 1.22. Now that we have had a few days of drying the very top layer of soil is dry but further down the soil is wet. Fields are getting new, green growth, recovering from dry conditions. Some autumn flowers have appeared but far fewer than normal. Our water supply is adequate and water is flowing in the Rio Grande river. The terrain is too wet for fires. The 2025-2026 water year total precipitation was 12.17 inches which is 116% of the NOAA normal of 10.50. Calendar year so far is 10.30, or 128% above the normal of 8.06.
