After a brief hiatus we've jumped right back in to a moderate drought. While September 2026 featured warmer than average temperatures (+2.18°F), it was far drier than usual (-4.70"), bringing our three month deficit to 6.56" and our year-to-date deficit to 14.25". Rainfall has been below average in 10 of the last 11 months, and 10 of the past 12. This despite a nor'easter, which was especially dry, with just 0.10 (one tenth of one inch) falling.
