I don't know how the Drought Monitor works, but they seem to be way off on not noting how dry this area is.  My lawn is completely brown, and not just dormant; large parts of my fescue are completely dead.  I have large cracks running through the soil and there have been combine fires in the area as farmers harvest crops.  My wetlands are completely dry, with cranes and herons having a field day eating all the dead fish.  The creek is down to a trickle with mostly pools within the gravel creek bed.  Pastures are not regenerating grass for grazing animals.  We really need rain!
