About a third of an inch of rain did little to change the soil moisture. While some water was added to the dry ponds, it did not bring the level up to the spillway so still no water is flowing downstream. The creek is still bone dry as in the picture. The plants that are not irrigated are stills showing signs of water stress with curled up leaves. We remain under Stage 2 water restrictions with no sign of any imminent changes in the forecast. Lawns are impacted and some areas will need to be completely rebuilt if we ever get back to a time when we can resume irrigations. Deer are not showing much fear of people and it is quite common to walk within 10s of feet of them and have them ignore us. Meanwhile bird migrations are in full swing.
