I've been teetering on the edge of mildy dry and near normal for several weeks. What pushed me into the mildly dry camp is a recent hike where several small streams had either minimal or no water. However, the local small river still seems to have a normal water level, and you wouldn't know it was dry to look at conditions in my yard and forest. Still, rainfall has been minimal. As I write this late Sunday, light rain has been falling intermittently today (and continues), but in the past 8 days it still amounts only to 0.26". Not great, on top of a series of not-great weeks.
