The rain is not stopping. Rain has fallen in the last 12 days out of 14. One point four inches this past week as temps averaged 2.1 degrees below normal. September is just over 12 inches so far. The all-time September record for Des Moines is 14.8 in 1914. Definitely in second place at this point. With all the rain, the ground is squishy now. Needless to say, no harvesting has occurred. Looks like more rain is coming for next week, doubt it will exceed the record before month's end. Being a young tractor driver at the time, this weather has reminded me of a crappy fall harvest in the late 60s, took forever.
