On Sept 24 I observed 2 mature oaks in my yard are WILTED from heat stress & drought, with very obviously drooping branches. I haven't seen this since the drought of 1980.

Have also recently noticed an unusual number of dead raccoons that have been hit by cars. No dead possums or armadillos. At least half a dozen raccoons on the local roadsides, which I think is happening because their water sources are drying or dried up & the animals are traveling farther than usual.
