0.07” rain this week.  Ongoing dry conditions, creeks are shrinking puddles, ponds low.   More corn down, some corn shocks going up.  All the beans look brown and ready but didn't see any additional fields down.  With the temps down and rain gone we got onto the porch the latter part of the week.  The trees have not continued changing color, so the change due to heat & drought fooled us.  Some poplars seem unaffected by the drought.  Of the affected trees half of the leaves that remain are still green.  Walnuts, always the first to go around here, are 50-90% bare.  The rest of the trees showing color change have been the same for the past couple weeks.  Rate of consumption on the hummingbird feeders is well down.  We're still seeing some, but numbers dropping every day.  So far none this morning – maybe they are gone.  Deer and turkeys laying low, we didn't see any this week.
