For the week 9/20 - 9/26 2026 ----- EARLY MORNING TEMPERATURES at Data collection: Aurora: 49, 46, 38, 34, 40, 46, 43 & Kingsford : 50, 46, 37, 36, 41, 48, 43, -----Highs this week 60's 70s ------ WATER CONTENT IN THE GAUGE: AURORA - T, T, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 Total= Trace KINGSFORD - T, T, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 Total= Trace ----- SNOWFALL- Aurora and Kingsford : nothing no snow ----- MENOMINEE RIVER: Water levels all week at a low summer water height and river flow in the high 700 CFS -low to mid 800s  Water height has been low over the summer and going into fall -----US DROUGHT MONITOR: Both Florence and the southern tip of Dickinson Counties remain in the D2 severe stage according to the actual US Drought Monitor (not the CoCoRaHS one on this site). I used Moderate here as severely would line up with the US Drought version. Grass has made a little improvement with same dry patches of grass getting smaller and the heavy dew mornings have helped ----- WILDFIRE RISK: For Florence and Dickinson counties is HIGH----- AIR QUALITY: Another excellent week no smoke clean air ------TOURISM: Campers lower in number than prior weeks but remain steady especially on US 2 for the fall color tour I imagine. BUSINESS: Local and regional traffic for construction has slowly been declining as I haven't seen much in heavy equipment being towed. Loggers also low this week and Just 2 farm machines I spotted going back and forth from a field this week but two different machines. Local contractors, about the same as last week, steady. -----WILDLIFE: Deer are still very active Kingsford along the wooded road this week. Geese have been flying north and south in small flocks not quite ready to depart south. Winter birds like Blue jays and woodpeckers have increased in my yard and the wild turkeys crossed the bridge into Kingsford. Squirrels and chipmunks are still gathering for the cold but still haven't seen any rabbits but the eagle has been spotted again this week flying along the river.----- PLANTS: Tree tops changing color has increased, last night with the heavy dew, a large leaf drop in my yard from Red Maple and sumac. Neighbors and my Lazy Susan's have seen better days and other flowering plants are done now for the season ----- That's all I have for this week. Enjoy you
