Despite below average rainfall this month the plants and shrubs remain green and healthy. Leaf litter on our hiking trails remains damp in shaded areas..However stream and creek flows remain much below normal but water temps in our local trout pond have fallen enough due to falling air temperatures to allow limited trout fishing in the morning hours. Leaves on maples and tulip trees seem to be falling and there is early color noted. Fall is in the air with temps in the low 40's this morning! Deer and rabbits remain active.
