Still no useful rain (just 0.11") since July, and heat continues (longest streak over 95) so still severely dry. Rain in forecast, but seems to keep getting pushed farther back. Meanwhile, most grass has parched, ground cracked, and trees are busily dropping their leaves. Birds have been more frequent at our fountain, but gardens need irrigation as we approach fall crops. Fire is a constant worry and watering restrictions remain.
